Supporters of the ‘India Out’ movement has targeted Defense Minister Mariya Didi as their new bully.
Her private residence was vandalized with “India Out” graffiti being drawn. Orange spray was used to spray India Out on the door of Maria’s residence.
Police said the matter has come to their attention and they are investigating. However, no arrests have been made in the case.
This event comes following the arrest of a man for spraying the outer wall of his residence calling for the arrest of opposition leader and former President Abdullah Yameen.
Defense Minister Maria is one of the most critical ministers in the government of the India Out movement. The ruling coalition’s MRM President and former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s residence was also sprayed with India Out, some nights back.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has issued a decree ordering state agencies to stop the opposition’s India Out movement as it is a threat to national security.
Following the President’s order, police have been removing India Out banners from private buildings in the city.
However, the opposition has repeatedly said that it will not stop the India Out movement despite attempts made by state agencies.
