The Elections Commission (EC) has reported that the second round of the presidential election, scheduled for September 30, has received over 47,000 re-registration applications.
This marks a substantial increase of 7,000 applications compared to the initial round of the presidential election.
The re-registration process began on Friday and concluded at 4 pm on Sunday, resulting in the significant surge in applicants. Currently, the EC has processed more than 19,000 forms, with over 27,000 forms currently undergoing verification.
In total, 282,803 individuals are eligible to participate in the second round of the presidential election, which includes 403 newly eligible young voters who have recently reached the voting age.
