Ainth Miss, Dhivehi Teacher, Passes Away at 58

Aminath Hassan, known as Ainth Miss, passed away at the age of 58 after a battle with cancer. She dedicated over 30 years to the field of education, primarily as a Dhivehi language teacher, and spent the longest part of her career at Aminiyya School.

Ainth was among the first graduates to earn a degree in Dhivehi language, marking her as a pioneer in the field. Her contributions extended beyond teaching; in 2018, she was appointed a member of the Asset Recovery Commission under former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. She also served on the Maldives Media Council in 2014.

In addition to her work in education and public service, she participated in politics, contesting the last parliamentary elections as an independent candidate for the Central Maafannu constituency.

She leaves behind a legacy of education, service, and dedication to her community a life that inspired countless students and colleagues across the Maldives.
