Several allegations were leveled against suspended Supreme Court Justice Abdulla Didi by the Judicial Service Commission at a public hearing held at Dharubaaruge on Thursday. Justice Didi is suspected of regularly taking bribes, releasing criminal suspects in return for favours and seeking government job opportunities for his family members .
Investigation Commission was chaired by JSC presidential representative Masthoor Husnee, Attorney General Ibrahim Riffath, Judge Mohamed Eesa and parliamentary representative Hisaan Hussain.
Justice Didi’s defence team chaired by former Vice President Dr Mohamed Jameel Ahmed and former JSC member Ahmed Saleem.
During the hearing, the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) publicized two letters sent to the commission by Maldives Police Service.

- Justice Abdulla Didi had received MVR1.3 billion stolen money from MMPRC corruption scam.
- When Abdulla Didi was serving at the Criminal Court ,he issued order to release of two suspects Mohamed Suaid and Abdulla Haisham who involved in abduction of journalist Rilwan, in return,his wife Ghaniya Abdul Ghafoor appointed as a deputy ambassador to Malaysia . Recently, she was dismissed from her post as Deputy Ambassador .
- Justice Didi is also suspected of taking a US$1 million bribe to sentence former President Nasheed to 13 years in jail.
Judicial Service Commission investigative committee has given Justice Abdulla Didi five days to send in a written response to the allegations against him. Last week, Justice Didi was suspended by the Judicial Service Commission over the bribe complaint filed by JSC member and Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed.
