The President of the Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, has announced that there will be new community centres for older people across the country. He made this announcement at an event in Dharubaaruge where the National Award for Public Service was given out.

The President said that these new centres will be a place where older people can meet and socialise. There will be different services available like help with social and emotional issues, fun activities, and support for staying healthy. This will help older people to be more involved in society and contribute more.

The first centre will be built in Male’ City on the Naadhee land plot. The President hopes to build more centres across the country so that older people can be happy and enjoy their lives.
