More than 70,000 tourists visited Maldives so far this year

Statistics released by the Tourism Ministry show over 700,000 tourists have visited the Maldives so far this year.

According to the latest statistics released by the Tourism Ministry, 706468 tourists have visited the Maldives so far this year. This is an increase of 55% compared to the same period last year.

Number of tourist arrivals to Maldives every month so far this year:

The month of May has been a successful month for tourist arrivals to the Maldives. While 125522 tourists arrived in the Maldives in May 2022, an increase of 21.8% compared to the 103023 tourist arrivals recorded before COVID-19 in May 2019.

Statistics show that the Maldives currently has the highest number of Indian tourists arriving in the country. A total of 99,614 tourists have arrived in the Maldives from India so far this year. This is 14.1 percent of the total number of tourists who visited the Maldives.

The second highest number of tourists visited the Maldives from the UK. A total of 88,043 tourists arrived in the Maldives from the country, third highest number of tourist arrivals from Russia with 67,088 tourists.

Statistics released by the Tourism Ministry show that an average of 4,146 tourists arrive in the Maldives every day, spending an average of seven days on holiday.
